Celebrating 20 Years with Elsa Matuson
It is with great pride that Symbiont Service celebrates Elsa Matuson’s 20th year of continuous service.
Elsa began working for Symbiont in the 80’s when Roy King was working out of Bradenton. After leaving for five years to pursue other interests, Elsa returned to the company in 1993. When Elsa began her career with Symbiont, the company was working out of a small office in Englewood with just a few employees. At the time, the Symbiont unit was still being manufactured in the back of the shop. Roy’s wife, Karen King, personally trained Elsa in every aspect of office work.
Through her 20 years with Symbiont, Elsa has seen many changes in the company. Elsa remembers her early years with the company as a very exciting time, she says, “the company was growing by leaps and bounds and GeoThermal was really catching on.” Since then, Symbiont has grown from a small family business into a successful corporation. Sandy King now owns and operates the company and under her leadership the employees have formed a work family built on mutual respect for each other. The corporation has a base of 41 employees, who share company goals, promote each other and celebrate each other’s victories, together forming a unique team that lends to Symbiont’s success in all departments.
Elsa has held a number of positions at Symbiont including secretary, bookkeeper, payroll, orchestrating and setting up seminars, office manager, dispatcher, customer service manager, and currently Service Sales Associate. Her job now is to develop, implement and orchestrate service sales. She is also responsible for estimating, submitting, tracking and following up on all service sales relating to pool heating and air conditioning. Her job provides support and documentation for customer complaints from start to resolution, creates written systems, documents any changes and assists in sales of planned maintenance agreements and renewals. By keeping customers up to date on maintenance for their equipment, she facilitates the company in achieving the service goals set for each month. Symbiont’s trademark phrase is “One Company, One Call, Complete Comfort” and Elsa’s position as Service Sales Associate promotes the genuine actuality of that philosophy. Elsa has dedicated most of her adult life and her career to supporting and facilitating Symbiont’s successes. Sandy King says, “Elsa has maintained long-lasting, quality relationships with our customers. She is a key employee in the right seat on the bus.”
Along with her fundamental contributions, her compassion for others and long-lasting friendships shared over the past 20 years have proven that she will always remain a valued member of the “Symbiont Work Family.”
